I've always enjoyed fourth-wall violation, ever since I first saw it in Metal Gear Solid. It just has a kind of charm about it.

Man, I love breaking the fourth-wall. ^^ I find it fun and very interesting, I sometimes put in a little fourth wall breaking in my stories.

It's like the imaginary barrier between the audience and the media. If a TV character turns and talks directly to you, that's breaking the fourth wall.
